Visit Georgetown,
Colorado (Exit 228 on I-70)
We have so much to offer in Georgetown, that's why
we built this web site. You may want to visit for the mining
history, the historical architecture or just a fun day of
shopping and ice-cream cones. In the warmer months, experience
family adventure with a ride on our famous Georgetown Loop
Railroad and our mining history on the Lebanon Mine Tour,
available on your train trip (beginning May 24, 2008 through
October). We also have the Silver Mine Tour & Museum, which
is truly an adventure, and open year round (call for seasonal
hours).
We have several museums and places of interest to visit while
in Georgetown. Just one minute from the I-70 Georgetown exit
(#228) we have a beautiful lake that's perfect for fishing.
If you have a pole or full fly-fishing gear, try to catch
dinner, or maybe just catch a nice dinner in town!
This beautiful natural environment we call our "backyard"
has spectacular wildlife, camping, hiking, mountain biking,
4-wheeling and ATV trails. It's been called a sportsman's
paradise, but it's so much more. We have a unique blend of
history, unique shops, quaint restaurants and a natural environment
that is all rolled into one place; it's Georgetown, Colorado!
Whether you visit for the day, plan an overnight or a few
days stay, we have plenty of diverse lodging in our little
town of just over 1000 residents. We offer two motels, several
bed and breakfasts, a few guest suites and some rental homes
that will meet your needs for short or long stays. We have
a new luxury hotel, the Hotel
Chateau Chamonix, as well as a new Bed and Breakfast (Silver
Queen B&B) both opening mid 2008. Many weddings
take place in the Georgetown area during late spring, summer
and early fall and our lodging is generally very busy; you
will need to book ahead for reservations to assure room availability,
(see the lodging directory on this site).
